Chatanooga Hills, Ga.
A Peaceful Escape
A second home in the mountains of Georgia with the intention to escape city living and surround oneself with nature.
Entrance
The moment you arrive onto the property peace will overtake you with the scent of lavender that frames the property, a teak front door inspired by buddha temples that is framed with a senso concrete archway that hangs with a Moroccan oil lamp and complimentary copper sconces.
Foyer
Using the mountains as a focal point, the architectural emphasis was to bring the outside in by installing floor to ceiling windows throughout the property, A sustainable casted concrete flooring and venetian plastered walls in the same materials. The decor is simply here to support the environment by using primarily neutral colors with accents of earth tone then in effort to keep the pallet visually interesting I layered with strong textures and patterns.
Dining Room
From the Fourier you flow into the dining and main living spaces where the same materials, fabrics and colors continue with custom artwork and subtle but rich accents are highlighted for visual interest.
Living Room
The intention with the living room is to be simple but bold. the simplicity comes with minimal furniture and consistent materials from the flooring to the fireplace then a custom coffee table made from the same casted concrete as the flooring. the statement is a oversized vase and custom pieces that the client obtained through travel. the space is truly about embracing minimalism by appreciating rare selections and supporting those items with a neutral background. this ensures a calming atmosphere.
Kitchen
Simplicity is a sign of perfection especially when it comes to cooking. Leathered soapstone countertops, a custom walk-in glass refrigerator and a oversized island accented with forged steal hardware… A recipe of fine ingredients managed in a simple but powerful way. A chef’s ideal kitchen.
Back Yard
The epidemy of a vacation home. Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter an entertaining space to enjoy all year round. with a firepit for the chilly weather, and a pool for the summer months, an overhang accented with Moroccan pendants to enjoy in the evening, and a dining space for all meals. you can spend every day all day outside.
